About Us
I have worked with dogs for the last 6 years in many different areas. I graduated from Algonquin College in 2004 with a diploma as a Veterinary Assistant. After 3 years working as a Veterinary Assistant I wanted to know how the dog works from a behaviour point of view. In February 2007 I started an apprentice program at Forever Friends Dog Training under Cheryl Smith and have been teaching Basic and Puppy classes for the last two years. Loving every minute of it!
I have been a foster home for abused and abandon since September 2006 and have had a variety of dogs in my home. I tend to have a soft spot for those foster dogs that no one else wants. An active Board Member for Hopeful Hearts Rescue from October 2008-November 2009. In October 2009 I also became an evaluator for the Canadian Canine Good Citzen Test with Responsible Dog Owners of Canada.
I have attended seminars by Jean Dodds, Cheryl Smith/Calvin Thompson and most recently one on Bach Flower Remedies for Dogs, Cats and Humans.
The inspiration for Kyra's Korner is of course one of my own dogs, Kyra is a 4 year old Boxer. Kyra has been well socalized with many other dogs throughout her life. She loves going to the dog park for regular play sessions with other dogs. In October 2009, Kyra passed her Canadian Canine Good Citizen Test and is now officially a good citizen!
Can't wait to meet you and your dogs!
